Just added to the Song of the Week playlist is ‘Aht Uh Mi Hed’ by the one and only Shuggie Otis. A multi instrumentalist who had recorded 3 studio albums by his mid twenties exploring blues, proto-electoronic pop & lush soul before all but vanishing from the scene. He was lauded as an ‘heir to Hendrix’ and turned down offers from the Stones and Bowie to pursue his own path. Probably best know for his song ‘Strawberry Letter 23’ but I really love his more understated songs playing with drum machines.
