This weeks 'Song of the Week' is 'Oh My God' by Kevin Morby taken from his latest record of the same name out on the @deadoceans label. By a long shot my favourite album from him so far.
I love the loose piano intro which is reminiscent of Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou (whose incredible song 'Homesickness' is also on the SOTW @spotifyuk playlist). To be honest there is a lot to love about the unusual arrangement of this song particularly with the backing vocals and horn. It is weaving, subtle and beautiful.
You can still catch Kevin Morby on tour as he goes around Australia and the US. I was gutted to miss him when the OMG Band came to London. I've heard nothing but rave reviews of the live shows so if you get the chance bagsy yourself a ticket!
